SHIP TRANSPORTS

The Japanese maintained a large fleet of ships for the purpose of transporting POWs (and small groups of civilians). Some ships made multiple trips. This website attempts to provide a complete overview of 251 ship transports.

SHIP NAMES
Ships were sometimes known by different names. The names referenced on this website are those used by G. F. Michno in his book "Death on the Hellships".
